How to Install T-Mobile Software on a Cingular BlackBerry Pearl

How to Install T-Mobile Software on a Cingular BlackBerry Pearl

Installing T-Mobile software on your BlackBerry Pearl from Cingular Wireless can be a challenge, but it's well worth it if you are a T-Mobile customer. Without the T-Mobile software, you won't be able to take advantage of all the benefits that T-Mobile offers its customers. To get the full experience, you need to have the right software on your phone. This also allows you to get better customer service for your BlackBerry Pearl when you call for any problems you have with the handset.

Instructions

  • 1    Navigate to T-Mobile's BlackBerry upgrade website and choose the model of BlackBerry Pearl from   the list (T-Mobile has only used the 8100 and 8120 models, and support for the 8110 is not available from T-Mobile).
  • 2   Click the "get software" button next to your phone model. Enter your 10-digit T-Mobile phone number and download the latest software for your device
  • 3   Double-click the file that you downloaded to install it on your computer
  • 4   Open Windows Explorer and navigate to "Program Files" > "Common Files" > "Research In Motion" > "AppLoader" and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
  • 5  Plug the BlackBerry Pearl into your computer using the USB cord that came with it. Double-click on "Loader.exe" (the file is in the same folder as the "vendor.xml file you just deleted) to install the new operating system from T-Mobile.
